Apparently, there are plans to go into space and mine out asteroids for platinum, nickel, and other minerals. The very fact that this is even being discussed is kind of crazy to me. Eventually, someone will have to be the first to do it though and just with any other kind of pioneering, there will be risks— and perhaps deaths.
