We visited the VCU Comics collection today and holy cow, that place is a treasure trove. I didn’t really have an idea about how expansive it was until the archivist, Cindy Jackson, kept bringing things out. It’s one of the largest comics collections in the world, and they have (literally) tons of material on hand. It’s free for the public to access and view, and they’re really cool about pulling images/scanning to your heart’s intent, as well as assisting in any research.
Afterwards, we met up to sketch with Chris Visions and Cathyrn Hutton. Super cool folk, and it’s always fun to meet awesome people from the internet in real life. Like, actually.
